About UES

Getting to know a place like Corinne A. Seeds University Elementary School (UES) is as much a learning experience as being a student or teacher in one of its classrooms. There is more to discover each day.

A laboratory elementary school, a center for research on education and child development, a training center for teachers and a resource for public schools, UES is the site of many dynamic programs. Among the consistent strands are respect for differences, passion for learning, commitment to innovation and a safe, natural environment. UES is a place where inquiry is aided and encouraged and where teachers and students can feel confident trying out new ideas and stretching their capacities.

One of the ways UES children learn about a new subject is by formulating questions, gathering information and going back to refine their questions for further research. Inquiry guides their learning and helps them develop important critical thinking skills. This approach, like all teaching methods used at UES, is based on research and is included in a continual system of classroom assessment and refinement.

We invite you to learn about the life of our laboratory school by using the children's method of asking questions. We encourage you to visit us, ask more questions and discover all UES has to offer.
