COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY
UES aims for a student population that represents the ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of California’s schools. The diversity of our families enhances and enriches the learning environment, provides opportunities for children’s growth, strengthens our community and helps us conduct research and develop curricula that are relevant for a wide variety of schools.

UES Student Ethnicity 2006-2007

Almost half of UES families are eligible and receive financial assistance based on a sliding scale. See the Admissions section of this web site for information about current tuition.

RESEARCH
As the laboratory of the UCLA Graduate School of Education & Information Studies, UES is an important resource for research in education and child development. UES provides opportunities for UCLA faculty and graduate students to work with practitioners on an ongoing basis in a real school setting.

OUTREACH
In addition to their classroom responsibilities, UES faculty members are consultants and teacher trainers in a wide range of areas, including technology, visual and language arts, social studies, science, early childhood education and safe schools.
